Located at the heart of ZEBOX in Marseille, this strategic innovation hub founded by CMA CGM enables Be Energy to deploy its circular economy Greentech solutions to address the challenges facing the global shipping industry.

One year after joining ZEBOX, the CMA CGM Group’s accelerator, Be Energy is reaffirming its role in battery development and innovation. This selection is part of an initiative aimed at designing sustainable energy solutions that support industrial performance and the energy transition.

ZEBOX: An Accelerator Dedicated to Industrial Innovation

Founded in 2018 in Marseille at the initiative of the CMA CGM Group, ZEBOX was created to connect innovative startups with major industrial players around a shared objective: accelerating the transformation of the transport, logistics, and energy sectors. The CMA CGM Group, a global leader in maritime transport and logistics, operates more than 600 vessels and serves over 420 ports worldwide. With several hundred offices across more than 160 countries and tens of thousands of employees, the Group plays a key role in international trade and the structuring of global supply chains. Through its acceleration programs, ZEBOX selects each year companies capable of delivering concrete solutions to major industrial challenges: operational performance, energy transition, and environmental impact reduction. Selected startups benefit from structured support, direct access to CMA CGM’s business expertise, and international collaboration opportunities. It is within this framework that Be Energy was identified and invited to join this ecosystem, due to its positioning at the intersection of industrial performance and environmental impact. Our expertise lies in extending the lifespan of batteries by optimizing their usage and preventing premature replacement. In sectors such as maritime transport, where batteries represent both a significant cost and a major environmental challenge, this approach provides an immediate performance lever.

CMA CGM Startup Awards: International Recognition for Be Energy’s Innovation

In 2024, Be Energy was selected among more than 60 international startups to take part in the CMA CGM Startup Awards, a global competition organized by the CMA CGM Group in collaboration with BFM Business and La Tribune. This program aims to identify and support the most promising solutions in the fields of maritime transport, logistics, and media, contributing to industrial transformation and the energy transition.

Initiated by the CMA CGM Group, a global leader in maritime transport and logistics, these awards are part of a broader strategy to foster innovation. The goal is to bring forward technologies capable of improving the operational performance of global supply chains while reducing their environmental impact. Selected startups benefit from privileged access to the Group’s ecosystem, tailored support through ZEBOX, and opportunities to collaborate with various CMA CGM entities.

At the end of the selection process, Be Energy was among the 3 finalists, invited to pitch its project during the grand finale held in Marseille at the Orange Vélodrome stadium, as part of the Artificial Intelligence Marseille (AIM) forum. This recognition positions Be Energy among the most innovative solutions identified by a jury chaired by Rodolphe Saadé, Chairman and CEO of the CMA CGM Group.

This selection represents a strong validation of our battery regeneration technology, recognized for its direct impact on industrial performance and environmental footprint reduction. It confirms the relevance of our approach in strategic sectors such as transport and logistics, where optimizing energy resources has become a critical challenge.

Beyond the distinction, this experience marked a key milestone: it helped position Be Energy as a credible and recognized technology player within the CMA CGM innovation ecosystem, further strengthening our legitimacy in deploying circular economy solutions at scale.

One year after this invitation, Be Energy continues its development with a resolutely operational approach. Today, we are working on real-world cases, particularly in the maritime sector, with the regeneration of batteries used on board vessels. These batteries, essential to the proper functioning of onboard equipment, are subject to demanding operating conditions that accelerate their wear and tear. Our intervention helps restore their performance and significantly extend their lifespan. The benefits are immediate for operators:
