At VivaTechnology, Be Energy presents the PTS800, a lithium battery safety workstation with augmented reality.

This is a major premiere for Be Energy, selected by the Région Sud from among 37 start-ups to take part in the Vivatech 2024 trade fair. Let’s take a look back at this major event!

From 22 to 25 May 2024, Vivatech transformed Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles, into a temple of innovation. Themed “The Future is Now”, the eighth edition of this prestigious show highlighted cutting-edge technologies and their applications in addressing today’s global challenges, such as climate change and inequalities.

Over four days, more than 165,000 visitors walked through the doors of this major event, an increase of 10% on the previous year.

Among the emblematic figures present at Vivatech 2024 were Elon Musk, sisters Serena and Venus Williams, Linda Yaccarino, Thierry Breton, John Kerry, Eric Schmidt, Arthur Mensch, Dario Amodei and many others. Vivatech 2024 also saw some spectacular presentations, including Tesla’s Cybertruck, Volocopter’s Volocity flying taxi and Software République’s U1st Vision concept car.

Région Sud out in force at Vivatech 2024

With the aim of showcasing its numerous strengths, the Région Sud was represented by a delegation of 37 of the region’s most promising start-ups. Under the leadership of Isabelle Campagnola-Savon, regional councillor in charge of the economy, and following a rigorous selection process carried out in collaboration with risingSUD and French partners, the Southern Region identified the brightest talents to represent the region’s innovation and technological diversity. The selection criteria included the originality of the solutions proposed, their potential for environmental and societal impact, and their ability to incorporate cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence.

Be Energy is extremely proud to have been chosen in the “Climate tech” category, underlining our commitment to sustainable technologies and our ability to innovate in the field of battery regeneration.

The objectives of the Southern Region at Vivatech 2024:

  • Promoting technological innovation: highlighting the region’s innovative companies in key areas such as artificial intelligence, environmental technologies, health and inclusion.
  • Supporting emerging start-ups: providing a platform for new businesses to raise their profile and develop their professional network.
  • Enhancing the attractiveness of the region: positioning the South of France as a major player in European innovation.

Specialising in battery regeneration, Be Energy uses artificial intelligence to optimise this process. “AI has enabled us to understand exactly what’s going on inside batteries and to improve their performance,” explains Mickaël Balondrade, Be Energy’s Managing Director. This technology enables us to improve the performance and lifespan of batteries, offering sustainable and efficient solutions.

PTS 800: a revolutionary advance in lithium battery safety

Unveiled last April at the Global Industrie trade fair, the PTS 800 represents a major advance in the safe handling of lithium batteries. Essential in the age of digital technology and electric mobility, these batteries involve significant safety risks, as demonstrated by the fire at SNAM’s industrial facility in Viviez.

In response to these challenges, Be Energy is presenting a patented innovation designed to ensure the safety of workstations using lithium batteries. The PTS 800 is equipped with sophisticated sensors capable of detecting any anomaly and automatically ejecting the battery in the event of a risk of thermal runaway, thereby ensuring the safety of operators.

In partnership with Arkite, this workstation incorporates augmented reality to guide operators with visual instructions, validating operations using intelligent sensors. This technology makes the PTS 800 accessible to people with disabilities, employed via an adapted company.

A show of meetings and opportunities

The buzz of the Vivatech 2024 show and the enthusiasm of visitors to the Région Sud stand enabled Be Energy to make valuable contacts with companies looking for solutions to manage their batteries at the end of their life: Renault, Stellantis, Crédit Agricole, CMA-CGM and TransDev, to name but a few. These exchanges pave the way for potential and promising collaborations, strengthening Be Energy’s position in the global battery regeneration market.

Be Energy would like to express its gratitude to RisingSUD, the regional development agency, for its support. We would also like to thank Région Sud and the Technopole de l’Environnement de l’Arbois for their invaluable support. Their trust and support were crucial to the success of our participation at the show.
