The flagship project of this initiative concerns the regeneration of 1,750 stationary batteries, specifically used in metro stations equipped with Platform Screen Doors (PSD) and Platform Edge Doors (PED). These safety devices, which are becoming increasingly common in metro systems in Asia and Europe, are used to separate the platform from the tracks and are a recent innovation for many urban transport networks.<\/span><\/p>\n Each metro station in Seoul equipped with PSDs requires 40 batteries, giving <\/span>a total of 11,120 batteries <\/b>for this equipment alone. But Be Energy’s commitment is not limited to this equipment. In addition to PSDs, other types of batteries are essential in stations for functions such as lighting, ventilation and IT systems, not forgetting the mobile batteries used in the trains themselves.<\/span><\/p>\n For the Seoul Metro Company, the <\/span>potential need is colossal<\/b>, with more than 50,000 batteries, generating replacement costs running into several million euros every year. Since the Be Energy Korea centre opened, 1,200 stationary batteries have been regenerated in two metro stations, demonstrating the immense potential of this partnership and of Be Energy’s regeneration technology.<\/span><\/p>\n The Seoul Metro Company chose Be Energy in particular because of the superior performance and power of its machines. Founded in 2014 by Bertrand Coste, Be Energy stands out for its 100% French R&D and technologies, outperforming existing battery regenerators on the market by eight to ten times.<\/span><\/p>\n French company Be Energy is currently experiencing <\/span>exponential growth<\/b>, operating in more than 50 countries with a network of turnkey workshops. In 2022, the company achieved a turnover of \u20ac1.7 million and is forecasting \u20ac2.5 million for 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n The new centre in Seoul combines resources and skills to penetrate new markets. Be Energy France provides technical expertise, state-of-the-art machinery and ongoing sales support.
